The Pitch: Kennedy, a brilliant propulsion engineer working at NASA, is visiting her parents on the day the world first learns of an alien craft approaching Earth. The world is forever changed by their arrival as humanity finally accepts that they are not alone in the Universe. The aliens, now called the Nuevians, do their best to help humanity unite and prepare for what they fear could come next. In truth, the Nuevians are in truth descendants of ancient humans who were abducted as slaves. With the fear of their abductors returning, the Earth puts all of its resources into preventing such an occurrence again, only this time on a global scale.

I came up with this novel idea during NaNoWriMo 2016 but didn’t actually start making progress until January of 2017. Over the next six months, I plugged away on this story idea until the start of CampNaNoWriMo in July of 2017. Overall I am about 115,000 words in and about 95% done with my storyline, with only the end climax remaining. This is all first draft material.
